The Bohemian interior is the only style that cannot be purchased wholesale — it must be accumulated over time, through travel, curiosity and an instinct for the singular object. Kilim rugs layered over jute, Moroccan lanterns beside Indian block-print cushions, rattan suspended above Persian miniatures, macramé beside antique maps. Every object carries a provenance, a journey, a memory. When it succeeds — and it requires genuine taste to succeed — it reads as the most intimate possible self-portrait of the person who assembled it. A Bohemian room is not designed. It is confessed.
